QUETTA, Aug 29: The four-party Baloch Alliance has asked the government to stop military operation in Dera Bugti and Kohlu, hand over the body of Nawab Bugti to his heirs and release all arrested political workers.

Speaking at joint press conference at the press club on Tuesday, leaders of the alliance vowed to intensify struggle for the rights of Balochs. Dr Hayee Baloch, Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Sardar Sanaullah Zehri also supported the MMA and ARD’s strike call for September 1 and announced that on Wednesday the highways connecting Balochistan with Sindh and Punjab would be blocked and no traffic would be allowed to enter the province.

They alleged that the killing of Nawab Bugti was the worst example of state terrorism because no such incident had occurred in the history of Balochistan. They alleged that the Baloch leader had been targeted by laser guided missile.

They claimed that the military rulers suffered serious setback as not only the Baloch people but also ARD, MMA, Ponam, ANP and other democratic forces had strongly reacted to the killing of Nawab Bugti.

They said the alliance would lodge an FIR against President Musharraf and Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf for killing Nawab Bugti and other innocent Balochs.

The leaders of the alliance said that the main conflict between usurpers and Balochs was over control of Balochistan’s resources.

Replying to a question regarding resignations of the alliance’s legislators from assemblies, Dr Hayee said that the alliance was a part of the combined opposition parties and they would abide by their decisions. In reply to another query, he said that he and Sardar Mengal would attend the All Parties Conference convened by the ARD.
