Search for explosive devices

SIALKOT, Aug 29: Alarmed by killing of two minor brothers in an explosion a few days back, the security personnel on Tuesday carried out massive search for any other fatal device in Zafarwal’s bordering villages.

Official sources said, the intelligence agencies personnel had launched the search operation following the death of the minor sons of a local labourer, Muhammad Akram on August 27 in an explosion inside the basic health unit at Amwaal Khokhey, Zafarwal, Shakargarh tehsil.

The sources said the agency personnel found no explosive device so far in the area.

DDO suspended: The Punjab education secretary has suspended from service Mrs Tehzeeb Fatima, deputy district officer (Education, female), Daska, on charges of corruption, embezzlement and misuse of powers.

According to a notification issued on Tuesday, the suspended official was also obstructing inquiries initiated against her by the department.

It is alleged that she had embezzled millions of rupees in the shape of the salaries of hundreds of teachers working under her.
