PHA names 18-member squad

LAHORE, Aug 27: The Punjab Hockey Association (PHA) has announced an 18-member team to take part in the 2nd Inter-provincial games to be held from Sept 16 to 18.

In addition, PHA also announced 18 probables, who after the games will join the 18-member team in a training camp from which a team will be selected to represent the province in the forthcoming Governor Gold Cup tournament.

Muntasir Sheikh will lead the team in the Inter-provincial games while Imran Malik is his deputy.

The team will undergo a training camp at Faisalabad Stadium from Monday.

Team: Muntasir Sheikh (captain), Imran Malik (vice-captain), Balal Ahmed, Khurram Majeed, Sher Khan, Adeel Khalid, Ibrar Hussain, Mohsin Balal, Abrar, Mohammad Nadeem, Hasan Akhtar, Rashid Waheed, Irfan Akram, NaseerAhmed, Ali Mustafa, Shabbir Ahmed, Syed Samyab, Sohail Ahmed.

Manager: Major Ashfaq Ahmed. Assistant manager: Mubashir Chaudhary. Coach: Mohammad Tahir Sharif. Assistant coaches: Malik Akbar, Ikramul Haq.

Probables: Waqas Liaqat, Amin Yousaf, Imran Butt, Hafiz Ihtesham, Khurram Shahzad, Ibrar Hussain, Zeeshan, Irfan, Shahbaz Ahmed, Raja Abdur Rehman, Asif Balal, Haroon Zaheer, Shahzad Nasir, Khalid Manzoor, Mohammad Abbas, Abdul Khaliq, Waqar Ahmed, Mohammad Iqbal.
