ISLAMABAD, Aug 26: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has expressed his deep sense of shock and grief over the sudden death of Pakistani cricket great, Wasim Raja.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the former Pakistani team skipper said: “Apart from being a natural cricketer Wasim Raja was a good personal friend and a nice human being.”

Mr Khan recalled Wasim Raja and said: “I and a host of other cricketers started playing cricket at the same age but he made his presence felt on the national cricket scene sooner than any of his contemporaries. It was his natural talent that placed him amongst the best few youngsters of that era.”

The PTI chief praised the deceased star and said once his test career was over in 1984 he continued to serve the game of cricket in one way or the other and that was why his contribution to the game of cricket would always be remembered at the international level.
