Veterinary college in Jhang

JHANG, Aug 24: The sub-campus of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is being established here on 75 acres of land at a cost of Rs500 million and classes will begin in a makeshift building from October.

This was stated by district nazim Sahibzada Sultan Hameed on the occasion of the visit of vice-chancellor Dr Manzoor Qureshi to Jhang to review the arrangement for starting classes.

Dr Qureshi told reporters that the Punjab government would provide 50 per cent funds for its establishment, while the Higher Education Commission would provide the remaining amount. Besides, the governor has promised Rs20 million as his contribution to the project.

He said the college building would be completed in two years. Apart from regular DVM classes, it would also offer short courses to livestock breeders, he added.
