Karachi, Aug 24: The port witnessed normal shipping activity where two ships carrying containers were accommodated on berths at QICT during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Berth occupancy remained at 70 per cent at the port where a total of seven ships occupied berths to load/unload containers, cement, sugar, carbon, oil and iron ore, respectively.

The port handled 41,221 tons of cargo comprising 19,236 tons of imports and 21,985 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,015 containers (Teus).

Vessels currently at the outer anchorage are: Marida Paterna, Explorer, Marblue, London Senator, and Madre to load/unload edible oil, cement, containers and sugar.

Two ships London Senator and Mariyah are expected to take berth at the container terminal on Thursday.

Three ships namely Bitumen Ride, Nedlloyd Muscat and Hellenic Breeze sailed during the report period.
