Adamjee bonus shares

Published August 25, 2006

KARACHI, Aug 24: Adamjee Insurance Company Limited would offer 12.5 bonus shares for every 100 shares held and not 8 shares as was announced in the earlier day’s dispatch to the shareholders, along with the financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2006.

The company told the KSE in a notice issued on Thursday that the mention of 8 shares instead of 12.5 shares was “due to a typographical error”.

According to the company, the correct sentence should have been: “It has been recommended by the Board of Directors to issue interim bonus shares in proportion of 12.5 shares for every 100 shares held i.e. 12.5 per cent”.

The error is in the number of shares mentioned while in percentage terms the bonus issue remains the same, i.e. 12.5pc, the company maintained.
