NEW DELHI, Aug 23: Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told parliament on Wednesday that three army personnel were being investigated for links with Lashkar-i-Taiba, but stressed that they were not officers.

“The army personnel concerned have admitted procuring of items such as clothing, boots, torch cells and SIM cards for the terrorists,” Mr Mukherjee told Rajya Sabha. “The matter is under investigation and suitable action will be taken against the concerned army personnel, depending on the outcome of the investigation.” Mr Mukherjee’s confirmation came when news reports suggested involvement of armymen in Kashmir with terror groups.—Correspondent
