Qadeer’s treatment urged

LAHORE, Aug 22: The Punjab PML-N on Tuesday called for the immediate release of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and constitution of a special medical board for his treatment. The party’s provincial president, Zulfikar Khosa, convened an emergency meeting of the party following reports that the architect of Pakistan’s nuclear programme was suffering from cancer.

The participants said that Dr Khan should be treated at home.

Lauding Dr Khan’s services for the country, Khosa said the national hero should not be sent to any other country for treatment as the United States had been calling for his extradition. —Staff Reporter
