Crushing win for North Zone Blues

LAHORE, Aug 18: An unbeaten 85 by opener Raza Ali and fine bowling by Hasan Mahmood enabled North Zone Blues beat West Zone Whites by 10-wicket in the PCB Inter-district senior cricket championship Lahore region match at the Railways Stadium on Friday.

Set to score 146 for win, Raza hit 11 fours and seven sixes in a 67-ball knock while fellow opener Mohammad Kashif hit 47 as North Zone Blues raced to victory in 24.4 overs.

Earlier, spinner Hasan Mahmood picked up four for 40 as West Zone Whites were dismissed for 145 in the 46th over.

In another match, between West Zone Blues and East Zone Whites only 51.1 overs of play was possible at the Model Town Club Ground.

WEST ZONE WHITES 145 in 45.3 overs (Kashif Sharif 44, Waqar Ahmed 31; Hasan Mahmood 4-40); NORTH ZONE BLUES 148-0 in 24.4 overs (Raza Ali not out 85, Muhammad Kashif 47 not out).

WEST ZONE BLUES 140-3 in 51.1 overs (Farrukh Rabbani 52 not out, Saqib Maqsood 30; Wasim Khan 2-25).
