Two killed

RAWALPINDI, Aug 17: A 12-year-old boy was battered to death by a man near Kutchery Chowk, while some unidentified persons gunned down a person in Dhoke Kala Khan, police said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the head of a person was found lying in a garbage bin placed opposite the Ministry of Defence, Saddar, on Wednesday.

Police said Zahid, 12, a wagon conductor by profession, was going towards Kutchery Chowk when an abnormal person attacked him with a heavy stone. The man battered the boy to death on the spot. However, nobody tried to save his life.

Civil Lines police have arrested the killer identified as Junaid-ur-Rehman.

In another incident, a man identified as Mumtaz Khan, was shot dead by some persons in Dhoke Kala Khan. Police are investigating motive for the murder.

Constable Muhammad Basharat, deputed at Secretariat No-II, informed the authorities that some scavengers spotted a man’s head lying in a garbage bin placed opposite the secretariat. Police took the man’s head into custody and started investigation.—Staff Reporter
