PO killed in ‘encounter’

SIALKOT, Aug 16: A proclaimed offender was killed in an encounter with the police in Hajipura locality early on Wednesday morning. Reports said that Nadeem alias Deemo and his accomplice were looting the people when a police patrol party happened to reach there. On seeing the police, the accused opened fire on law enforcers. The police returned the fire, killing a proclaimed offender on the spot while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene. The deceased PO was identified as Nadeem alias Deemo, wanted to police in over 25 cases of dacoity, robbery, theft and kidnapping.

Hajipura police have registered a case and are investigating.

It may be mentioned that the same dacoits had killed constable Muhammad Shahid in an encounter in Hajipura locality some time back.

BURN WOUNDS: Four people, including two minor children, received serious burn wounds as two bandits threw acid on them on resistance during a dacoity in Nai Abadi Nizampura in Hajipura here on Wednesday.

Reports said that two armed bandits, carrying acid with them, entered the house of Iqbal and Abid and held hostage all family members and started collecting cash and valuables. For offering resistance, the intruders threw acid on inmates. As a result, Abid, Subhan and minor children Zainab and Aman received serious burn wounds. They were admitted to a Sialkot hospital where their condition was stated to be critical. The accused escaped with the booty.

Hajipura police have registered a case.
