LAHORE, Aug 15: Eight matches in singles and three in doubles events were decided on the first day of of the two-day Independence day badminton championship at New Khan Hall on Tuesday.

Results:

Boys singles: Irfan Saeed bt Hannan 21-10, 21-10; Mohammad Nauman bt Farhad Sarwar 21-15, 21-19; Zeeshan bt Saqlain 21-7, 21-18; Adil Haseeb bt Imran Sajid 21-16, 21-18; Azeem Sarwar bt Amir 6-21, 21-17, 21-12; Nauman bt Zeeshan 21-17, 21-18; Arsalan Khan bt Azeem Sarwar 21-15, 21-14.

Doubles: Irfan and Arslan bt Nauman and Azeem 21-11, 21-19; Hannan and Usman bt Zeeshan and Fahad 21-18, 21-17; Adil Haseeb and Ali bt Sarwar and Sajid 21-15, 21-15.

KAMALIA GREENS WIN

Kamalia Greens beat Faisalabad to win the Independence Day rugby tournament winning the final 13-9 at the Government High School, Kamalia.
