KARACHI: Steps against epidemics

KARACHI, Aug 15: Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman has urged the departments concerned to take immediate measures to check the spread of epidemics as a result of rains.

He said steps be taken for repair of roads damaged by stranded water, lifting of garbage from roads, streets and public places, fumigation against mosquitoes and flies and effective drainage of water and sewerage and proper sanitation.

Specially, he said, steps be taken for cleanliness in educational institutions so that students were protected against any possible diseases when they attended schools after their reopening on Wednesday.

He called upon officials of the education department to take immediate steps for cleanliness in educational institutions.—APP
