Tahir Dar excels for Bahrain

KARACHI, Aug 9: A fine knock of 91 by Tahir Dar was cornerstone of Bahrain’s 87-run victory over Karachi Academy in the first one-day match at the Pakistan Steel Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Tahir, who struck five sixes and three fours, helped Bahrain reach 245 for nine in 50 overs after skipper Qamar Syed close to bat first.

Akmal Malik also batted well to score 49 during a fourth-wicket stand of 114 with Tahir.

Slow left-armer Ahmed Iqbal captured three for 47.

Karachi Academy folded up for 158 in the 47th over with Shaharyar Ghani (45) and opener Behram Khan (37) the only batsmen to shine.
