NAIROBI, Aug 9: Kenyan tea prices were mixed, with some grades easing due to slower activity by some buyers, traders said on Wednesday.
The Mombassa-based Africa Tea Brokers (ATB) said in its report that 81,822 packages of tea were offered at the Tuesday auction, compared with 82,845 packages put up for sale last week.
ATB said 12,940 packages were unsold at the auction.
Brighter Best Pekoe Ones fetched between $2.23 and $2.50 per kg, compared with $2.20-$2.60 at last week's auction.
Best Pekoe Fanning Ones sold at between $2.34 and $2.46 per kg, compared with $2.40-$2.80 at the last auction.—Reuters
