VEHARI, Aug 8: The Luddan police have failed to arrest the two constables who had looted 50-tola gold and four-kilo silver ornaments from a jeweller some 15 years ago. Haji Mohammad Ramzan, 60, alleged in an application filed with Vehari DPO Malik Tassadaq Hayat at an open court in Luddan here on Tuesday.

Ramzan said in 1990, he reached the Luddan wagon stand at night from Multan after purchasing jewellery when two constables, Maqsood and Nisar, intercepted him and fled after snatching ornaments from him. He informed the then Luddan SHO Sadullah Khan who registered a case against the accused, but did not arrest them.

He said nowadays both the accused had been working in Pakpattan district, but the police had not taken any step to arrest them or recover the looted ornaments. The DPO gave seven days to the Luddan police to resolve the case.

The DPO received many other complaints regarding property disputes, kidnapping, theft and also against the police for not registering FIRs.

He gave seven days to the police officials concerned for resolving public complaints.
