ISLAMABAD, Aug 8: The Central Board of Revenue has rejected a proposal of the Computers Association of Pakistan seeking abolishing of general sales tax on computer imports. An official announcement on Tuesday said the CBR would not consider the proposal of the association for GST abolishment. This was decided in a meeting of the association with senior officials of the CBR.
However, the CBR had expressed its willingness to consider the suggestions to resolve any problem faced by the computer importers, assemblers and traders in implementation and understanding of sales tax laws and procedures, added the announcement.
