U-16 shuttlers for Asiad

LAHORE, Aug 7: Pakistan will field a six-member boys and girls squad in the Asian under-16 badminton championship to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in November this year. A spokesman of the Pakistan Badminton Federation said three boys and as many girls would form the squad.

He specified that this would be the first occasion that Pakistan would be competing at U-16 level.

He said the federation sent an U-19 team, which participated, in the Asian championship held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, last month.

Though Pakistan could not make a significant achievement in Malaysia, the youngsters gained an opportunity to hone their skills.
