LAHORE, Aug 7: The city police claimed on Monday to have arrested 27 Afghans for their alleged involvement in criminal activities.

They were arrested from different parts of the city, a police spokesman said.

He said they had been rounded up as part of police efforts to deter any sabotage activity in the city in connection with the Independence Day.

Meanwhile, DIG (operations) Aamir Zulfiqar Khan directed all SPs to enhance patrol from 7pm to 1am and beef up security at bus stops, trade centers and markets.
