PESHAWAR, Aug 7: Al Khidmat Foundation had demanded that the districts affected by flood should be declared calamity-hit areas and a relief package should be announced for the victims.

The foundation’s provincial chief MNA Shabir Ahmad Khan and director Haji Shakirullah told a news conference that it had distributed relief goods worth Rs11.3 million among the affected people.

“Mardan, Mansehra and Charsadda should be declared calamity-hit areas and agricultural loans in the areas should be written off,” they demanded.

They said the government should take steps for providing employment to people of the affected areas.

According to their survey, 4,375 houses had been damaged in Charsadda district.—PPI
