MIRPURKHAS, Aug 5: District Nazim of Mirpurkhas Dr Sughra Junejo has directed police to take stern legal action against anti-social elements and those involved in the narcotic business.

She was presiding over a meeting held here on Saturday in her office to review the law and order situation which was attended by DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, DPO Abdul Hadi Billo and TPOs.

She deplored that narcotics reached educational institutions and it was our responsibility to save youth from narcotics. She said that the excise police were responsible to eliminate narcotic dens. She directed excise police officers to improve their efficiency by taking action against drugs’ dens and adopt effective strategy, adding that the report should also be furnished to her every month.

She directed police officials to keep watch on miscreants by deploying police at religious places, including mosques, Imam Bargahs etc and added that patrolling be intensified for eliminating crime.

She directed police to launch massive campaign against those salesmen who were selling gutka and mainpuri at cabins and shops. She asked investigation police to dispose of registered cases.

DPO Mirpurkhas Abdul Hadi Billo said that the law and order situation was satisfactory and 78 cases of narcotics were lodged while 111 accused were arrested and challaned.
