Two fall prey to revenge killing

JACOBABAD, Aug 5: Armed men shot dead a 25-year-old man and a 60-year-old in separate incidents in what appeared to be revenge killings on Saturday.

In the first incident, six armed men shot dead 25-year-old Rafiq Ahmed Lakhati over an old enmity in the Kamani Lakhani village in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station.

Reports reaching here said that six armed men, later identified as Dil Murad alias Dhadhu Sarki, Rasool Bux Sarki, Basheer Ahmed Sarki, Malikdad Lakhati, Kalati Lakhati and Ibrahim Lakhati barged into the house of Rafiq and killed him with a TT pistol before fleeing.

Rafiq died instantly. Later, police shifted his body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Mumtaz Ali, brother of the deceased, has lodged an FIR against the accused.

In the other incident, a group of armed men shot dead a man over an old enmity in the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station.

Reports reaching here said that Walidad, 60, was on his way to a taxi stand when a group of armed men opened fire on him with a TT pistol and fled.

Walidad sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he died. Dozens of his fellow Jakhrani clansmen waited outside the hospital.

Faridullah Jakhrani, son of the deceased, has lodged an FIR against Latif, Illahi Bux and Akbar Jakhrani at the Civil Lines police station.
