MIANWALI, Aug 5: The district administration got evacuated a numbers of villages fearing flood in the Indus.

According to the flood warning office, 500,000 cusecs of water was expected to pass through Jinnah and Chashma barrages in the next 24 hours.

Sources said water level in the Indus was soaring because of heavy rains upstream. The river water was touching villages of Wattakhel, Shahbaz Kehl and railway crossing at Mujahid town.

Meanwhile, intermittent rain which started on Friday night continued on Saturday.

Reports from Iskehl Khel tehsil said that hill torrents caused by rain destroyed standing crops over a large area.
