ARD for real democracy

Published August 6, 2006

ATTOCK, Aug 5: Chief Coordinator Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Malik Hakmeen Khan has said that the alliance would bring ‘real democracy’ in Pakistan.

“ARD’s component parties’ London meeting proved helpful to adopt an effective political strategy for restoration of real democracy and supremacy of parliamentary institutions in the country under the Charter of Democracy (CoD),” he said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.

Mr Khan, who is also PPP’s central leader, was accompanied besides PPP tehsil president, Malik Shahan Khan, and a number of leaders and workers on the occasion. Hakmeen Khan said the CoD was the first important historical document adopted after the 1973 Constitution.

He said the CoD would stabilise the system in future and would stop military dictatorship forever in the country.
