THATTA, Aug 5: The senior member of the Sindh Board of Revenue, Syed Anwar Hyder, has said that the government is making all-out efforts for the rehabilitation of people rendered homeless by recent rains and sea intrusion.

He said that the government would not leave the people at the mercy of circumstances.

Talking to rain-affected people in Baghan and relief camps set up by Keti Bundar and Kharochhan taluka administrations on Friday, he said that medicine and food would be provided to 1,100 affected people.

The senior member said that complaints of affected people for providing only one-time meal and meagre medicines would be streamlined. He issued directives to officials to shift all stranded people to make-shift buildings.

He also called upon officials to drain out stagnant water from villages and crops.
