Rs90.89m loans for students

KARACHI, Aug 5: A sum of Rs90.898 million has been allocated as interest free loans for deserving students for higher studies.

A meeting of the apex committee for students loan scheme held under the chairmanship of State Bank Deputy Governor Mansur-ur-Rehman Khan here on Saturday approved an amount of Rs90.898 million interest free loans for 1,115 deserving students in different disciplines.

The loans were given to the students from all over the country for pursuing graduation, masters and PhD studies for the session 2005-06.

The meeting was attended among others by the presidents of National Bank of Pakistan, Muslim Commercial Bank, Allied Bank Limited, representatives from Habib Bank Limited and United Bank Limited and the deputy secretary (banking) of the ministry of finance.
