KARACHI: BDS results announced

KARACHI, Aug 4: The examination department of the University of Karachi on Friday announced the results of final professional BDS annual examinations 2006.

Saba Yousuf Shaikh d/o Mohammad Yousuf Shaikh of the Liaquat College of Medical and Dentistry, clinched the first position. Hina Khalil Malik d/o Khalil Malik of the Fatima Jinnah Dental College stood second while Samira Nasir d/o Nasir Iqbal of the Karachi Medical and Dental College got third position.

According to the statistics, a total of 181 students were registered with the KU exams department of which 180 appeared in the exams and 150 students were declared successful. The pass percentage remained at 83.33 per cent.

MBBS: The KU on Friday declared the schedule of the second and third (professional) MBBS supplementary examination-2006.

A total of 50 candidates are appearing in the MBBS second professional supplementary exams to be held from Aug 16 to 21. Pharmacology paper will be conducted on Aug 16, Forensic Medicine on 18th and General Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology (New Course) on Aug 21.

In MBBS third professional supplementary exams to be held from Aug 17 to 21, a total of 100 candidates will appear. Paper of Pathology (New Course) and Pathology-II (Old Course) will be conducted on Aug 17, Community Medicine on 19th and Pathology-I (Old Course) on 21st.

The examination centre for both the MBBS second and third professional supplementary exam is Department of Physiology, KU. Exam timings are from 2:30pm to 5pm.

ADMIT CARDS: The KU examinations department said that the candidates could collect admit cards of BCom external part-I, II and both parts supplementary examinations-2005 from Aug 2 to 7, between 10am to 3:30pm from the KU exam counter (window 1), Silver Jubilee Gate No 1.

The exam counter will remain opened on Aug 6. The BCom supplementary exam will commence from Aug 10.

LLB PAPER: The KU notified that the postponed paper-III (Constitutional Law-I) of LLB part-I annual examination-2006 would now be held on Aug 6 at the same venue and time i.e. from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The declared schedule of LLB exam will remain unchanged.—PPI
