Probe into police encounter begins

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 2: The Gojra judicial magistrate started probe on Wednesday into alleged killing of two dacoits in an encounter.

Gojra police had killed the robbers last week when they had snatched a motorcycle from a farmer near Chak 154 GB Dhotian.

The magistrate recorded the statements of witnesses.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed and his driver injured seriously when a car rammed into a tree on Toba-Jhang Road near Chak 389 JB.

Sheikh Umar of Sahiwal was on his way to Jhang by his car when the accident took place. The injured driver was admitted to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.

SUICIDE: A girl committed suicide on Wednesday in Chak 316 GB in Chuttiana police area.

Humaira, 14, was admonished by her parents over a domestic issue and she took poison. She died on way to hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A farmer was shot dead in Arrouti near Pirmahal over old enmity.

Bashir, Nadir and Nawaz attacked Fakhar Abbas of Shahpur village when he was at work in his fields, killing him on the spot.
