RIYADH, Aug 2: A number of processions in support of Hezbollah were taken out in eastern Saudi Arabia. The largest of them was taken out on Tuesday evening with about 2,000 people participating in it.

This was a rare protest in the kingdom, where protest marches are not allowed.

Earlier over the weekend too, two separate processions were brought out in the Shia-dominated towns of Al-Awamiya and Qateef on Saturday.

Tuesday’s procession was described as being the largest and more vocal.

A website carried photographs of the protesters, which included women and children, carrying pictures of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

It said Lebanese expatriates also took part in it.
