HYDERABAD, Aug 1: The controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on Tuesday announced the results of SSC Part-II (class-X) annual examination of general group. The results show that not a single student could attain A-1 grade.

Among the boys, Saeed-ul-Zafar, son of Mohammad Abdul Majeed Siddiqui, from the Government (boys) High School, Halepota, Hyderabad, secured first position by obtaining 664 marks while Faraz Ahmed, son of Zahoor Ahmed Bhatti, from the Government High School, Fauji Sugar Mill, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Mohammad Jamshed, son of Mohammad Iqbal Gujjar, from The Government (boys) High School, Old Wahdat Colony, Hyderabad, bagged second and third positions by obtaining 659 and 656 marks, respectively.

Among the girls, Sindhoo, daughter of Syed Shah Mohammad Shah, from the Government (girls) High School, Tando Muhammad Khan, Rizwana, daughter of Jalil Ahmed Qureshi, from the Government (girls) Comprehensive Higher Secondary School, Latifabad No.5, and Shireen, daughter of Qamaruddin Memon, secured first, second and third positions by obtaining 662, 660 and 659 marks, respectively.

A total of 2,223 candidates, including 1,156 girls, appeared in the examination and 1,901 including 1,021 girls, were declared passed, the board said.

The board withheld the results of nine students for various reasons. The percentage of successful candidates on the whole remained 86.29.

TEACHERS SUSPENDED: The EDO of education, Tando Mohammad Khan, on Monday suspended 11 teachers and sent them on forced leave for violating the ban on associations.

Reports reaching here said that 10 teachers are in the primary cadre and one in the secondary cadre.

The EDO also directed district education officers to submit regular reports about teachers who were violating the ban.

The EDO’s move enraged the teacher fraternity who came out in large numbers the same day to stage a protest demonstration on Phuleli Road in Tando Mohammad Khan.
