BANNU: The theft of official records from the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Bannu, has come to light, with important registers and files reportedly missing from the Tehsil Officer Regulation (TOR) branch.

In a complaint submitted to the city police station, the administration said that the drawers and cupboards of the branch were found unlocked when the office reopened last Monday.

According to an internal report by a senior assistant of the TOR branch, Rahatullah Shah said, the missing records included the Mazari Mandi records, D&C register, goods warehouse (Mal Mandi) records, entry fee records, and all challan books and files related to Fazal Qadir Shaheed Park.

The report further disclosed that the office keys remained in the possession of an employee last Saturday and Sunday.

TMA Bannu Tehsil Municipal Officer Fakhrul Islam requested the police to register a first information report and launch an investigation to recover the missing official records.
