KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested a couple allegedly linked to an “international network of narcotics suppliers”.

Acting on a tip-off, SITE-Superhighway Industrial Area police arrested the two suspects, Ali Raza and Maryam, and seized from their possession a bag containing four slippers concealing narcotics, as well as two packets of hashish.

During initial investigations, it emerged that the couple had allegedly procured the drugs from Quetta and were planning to smuggle the contraband to Australia, where a key operator of the network would sell the consignment and transfer the proceeds to the suspects in Pakistan.
