QAT warns rulers against Sindh’s division

HYDERABAD: The Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) held ‘Mohabbat-i-Sindh rally’ in Matiari on Friday to highlight the threats being faced by the province and to resolve a vigorous struggle to foil all “conspiracies” to disintegrate it.

Leading the rally, QAT President Ayaz Latif Palijo strongly condemned federal government’s moves to divide Sindh and its plans to take away Sindh’s water, lands and other resources.

He said Sindh should not be pushed against the wall, reminding the rulers that it is the province that had created Pakistan. Global imperialist powers have targeted Sindh under a conspiracy against the country, he observed.

He said his party would keep raising its voice for the integrity of Sindh, its right over its own resources and its democratic rights. “Pakistan needs stability, fair elections and an independent judiciary,’’ he said.

Without naming any nationalist party, he said: “some nationalist parties want to please and help PPP whatever way possible because PPP got money and is in power with the blessings of the powers that be.” He claimed that the PPP had made commitment with some people (nationalists) to adjust them in the upcoming elections.

He said that people of Sindh would not compromise on their province’s integrity.
