ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders from Major Group Attock, headed by retired Major Tahir Sadiq, have strongly condemned the federal government’s decision to impose governor rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In a joint statement issued from Attock, retired Major Tahir Sadiq and former MNA Eman Tahir termed the federal government’s decision to impose emergency in the KP province as “unconstitutional, undemocratic and an attempt to suppress the democratic rights of the people of the province.”
They stated that such measures were aimed at targeting the PTI and silencing the voice of the people, but the party could not be intimidated by such tactics. Both the leaders reaffirmed their complete resolve to support the PTI and its founding chairman Imran Khan in any circumstances, adding that workers of the Major Group, Attock, stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the party in this difficult time.
They demanded immediate withdrawal of the emergency in KP and restoration of constitutional and democratic norms in the province.
