KARACHI, July 30: Eight-year-old mare, Piyari Mehbooba, overcame bad patch when she posted a facile four lengths victory over Fizza in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

As predicted in these columns she obliged the punters by returning to form after consistent dismal runs barring three fourth places. This was her third win of the year the previous being on Jan 29 and Feb 22.

Finishing further three lengths behind was mare Ghabra while filly Sea Gul completed the frame.

Four-year-old bay colt, Master Of Distster, lived up to his top billing when he won second race on trot beating Lucky Luck by neck in a closely fought battle.

Trained by Allah Judrio he was galloped to victory by Ghulam Shabbir II.

Chand Aya settled for third place while Ladla finished fourth.

The administrator of Karachi Race Club, Fakir Syed Aitzaz Uddin, postponed remaining races following monsoon rains.

The remaining races will now be held on Wednesday if weather permits, says an official announcement.
