LAHORE, July 30: The Pakistan Transport Workers Federation has urged the government to prescribe working hours for drivers.
Voicing the demand at a meeting held here on Sunday, Federation president Muhammad Rafiq Qureshi and secretary-general Muhammad Saeed said the fixing of working hours and establishment of training institutes was necessary for reducing the high rate of road accidents.
They also stressed the need for lifting of ban on trade union activities in all government and public sector organisations, including Pakistan Railways, and discontinuation of the privatisation process. —Reporter
