QUETTA, July 30: Speakers of all the legislatures of the country the AJK assembly have decided to establish an institute in Islamabad which would impart training to legislators to perform duties in a batter way.

Speaker National Assembly Chaudhary Amir Hussain said this while announcing ‘the Quetta declaration’ adopted in the 15th Speakers Conference concluded here on Sunday. The institute would be set up under the name and pattern of Pakistan institute of legislative services’

He said participants of the conference deliberated on legislative process, improvement of performance of legislators and many like issues.

The participants also discussed the proposal to set up parliamentary TV channels and decided to again take up the matter in the next conference scheduled to be held in October in Lahore.

The NA speaker said the participants felt a need to establish an institution, on the pattern of the National Defence College, to train legislators and it was decided to set up the proposed institute in Islamabad. The institute, he said, would facilitate research, training and holding of seminars and symposia through an institutional framework. It was also decided to establish a data bank containing all relevant information regarding functioning of the parliament and provincial assemblies for legislators.
