The Sri Lankan delegate saw the historical office items of 1896 and appreciated the initiative.
Talking to media representatives, Dr Sheikh said Lyallpur tehsil was established in 1896 and in view of this, a corner of the then Colonisation Officer’s office has been established in the museum.
He said that Captain Popham Young and Sir Ganga Ram prepared a map of the Ghanta Ghar, eight bazaars and localities, which was later implemented.
The commissioner said that the purpose of establishing the historical corner was to make visitors aware of the office of 1896 and the office system of that time.
