Blast leaves 21 injured

QUETTA, July 28: Twenty-one people were injured in a powerful bomb blast near the Chaman railway crossing on Friday afternoon. It was local made bomb planted on a motorcycle with a timer, senior police officer Zahid Afaq told Dawn at the blast site.

The injured included two police constables and an official of the Intelligence Bureau, Quetta, who were passing through the area when the bomb exploded, police sources said. Four employees of a nearby bank were also injured. The blast occurred at 4:15pm, 600 metre from Ayub Stadium, where a congregation of the Jamaat-i-Islami was going on.
