U-15 cricketer faces ban

Published July 29, 2006

KARACHI, July 28: Karachi’s Under-15 cricketer Zain Ishtiaq has been asked by Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) to explain his appearance for two Zones in the recently concluded U-15 Inter-zonal tournament.

Zain, in a gross violation of rules, played two matches for Zone-II Whites on July 12 and 17 respectively and later appeared for Zone-VI Blues in the same tournament on July 21.

The KCCA council will meet to dicuss the situation after the player’s reply and will decide the penalty.

Until such time Zain will remain suspended from all levels of cricket in the city.—APP
