HYDERABAD, July 28: The Pakistan Oppressed Nations’ Movement has said that the government is trying to create anarchy in Sindh by engineering groups in political parties. It said that the government and the bureaucracy did not want the people of Sindh to unite on one platform for their rights.

At a meeting of the administrative committee of the Sindh Qaumi Wahdat (Sindh National Unity) held here on Friday, PONM leaders condemned the ban on teachers’ and employees’ associations.

Sindh chapter general secretary of PONM, Maulana Azizullah Bohyo, presided over the meeting.

The meeting said that banning associations was undemocratic and unconstitutional.

It said that the government had ignited many tribal feuds, imposed ban on student organisations and employees’ associations.

The meeting alleged that the government was patronising terrorist organisations and creating bandits destroying peace in the province.

It resolved to support the struggle of Sindh Employees Alliance.

It condemned alleged irregularities in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpurkhas and illegal appointments in the board on the ethnic basis.

It claimed that the appointments were made without advertising posts in newspapers and without conducting interviews under the pressure of MQM.

It demanded that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into alleged illegal appointments in the Mirpurkhas board.

The alliance said that an all-party conference would be called in Hyderabad on August 19 on the topic of “Charter of Democracy and the Rights of the Nations”.

The committee had earlier decided to hold the APC on August 2, but the date has been changed due to unavoidable circumstances.
