Two young men dead, three injured as car hits divider

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two young men died and three others were seriously injured after their car hit a road divider near Tariqabad on the Canal Road in Faisalabad on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122, the car was going from Samundri Road to Madina Town and the accident was caused due to overspeeding.

The deceased were identified as Ahmad Murtaza (21) and Muhammad Huzaifa (17) and the wounded as Jaffar Ali (26), Shahzaib Nadeem (22) and Mohid Tahir (23). They were shifted to the Allied Hospital for treatment.

SUICIDE: A youth allegedly committed suicide in Gojra on Tuesday night.

Reports said Muhammad Hassan (26), a vegetable vendor, had a quarrel with a man of his locality, Muhallah Sultanpura.

They reconciled after an intervention by the elders of the locality, but the other man allegedly continued to harass him. Over this, Hassan took poison and ended his life.

He was shifted to the Gojra THQ Hospital for treatment, where the doctors referred him to the Faisalabad Allied Hospital, but he died there.

PRAYER LEADER HELD: A prayer leader has been arrested by the Gojra Saddar police on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to molest a 10-year-old boy.

The father of victim H claimed in his complaint to the police that when his son was learning the Holy Quran in the mosque, he went to the washroom where suspect R followed him.

The suspect allegedly attempted to rape him, however, when the child raised the alarm, he fled away. The police later arrested the suspect.

PTI LEADER HELD: The Nawan Lahore police raided the house of PTI Gojra Vice President Malik Ghulam Ali Qadeer in Chak 277 JB, Bhuddi Pind, on Tuesday night and arrested him.

Sources claimed he had been detained for 30 days on the order of the deputy commissioner under the MPO.

Meanwhile, dozens of PTI activists staged a motorcycle rally on Wednesday in Kamalia to demand release of PTI founder Imran Khan.

The rally began from the Kalma Chowk on Toba-Chichawatni Road and culminated at the Grain Market Chowk.
