ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom and Poland on Wednesday agreed to enhance cooperation with Pakistan against illegal migration, narcotics and organised crime and to sign various memorandums of understanding (MoUs).

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhary held separate meetings with British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Stephen Doughty and Polish Minister and Head of the Council of Ministers Tomasz Siemoniak.

In his meeting with the British minister, Mr Naqvi stressed the need for joint measures to curb the trend of travelling to the UK on fake student visas.

During the meeting with the Polish minister, bilateral relations and ways to further enhance security cooperation were discussed.

The two sides agreed to finalise various MoUs, including one on Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA), at the earliest. It was also agreed that a delegation of the Ministry of Interior, led by Mr Chaudhary, would visit Poland soon.
