KARACHI, July 27: The town nazim of Malir, Ansar Ahmed Sheikh, on Thursday directed the departments concerned to complete work on the development of a park and reconstruction of roads besides shifting of cattle pens and electricity poles in Model Colony.
He issued the directives during his visit to the locality after holding an open kutchehry where a large number of residents of Model Colony Shed no. 15, 16 and 17 lodged various complaints.
The town nazim said that the KWSB had assured of providing sufficient water on regular basis to Model Colony, adding that additional supply to the area would start after receiving 5mgd water from the K-III project.
He directed the officials concerned to establish a park at R-1 Stop within the next ten days. He said a road would also be constructed from Mazar to Faryal School and urged the KWSB to initiate sewerage work in Shed-15, 16 and 17.
Later, Mr Sheikh inspected the locality and asked the officials concerned to remove encroachments and get cattle pens and electricity poles shifted from Model Colony.
SHAH FAISAL: The town nazim, Mohammad Imran, visited various areas of the town and inspected the sanitary conditions and arrangements made in this regard.
The town nazim directed the officials concerned to ensure immediate disposal of garbage from bins and proper cleaning of streets and main roads. He also directed them to chalk out a comprehensive strategy in order to improve the sanitary conditions in the town.
JAMSHED TOWN: The town nazim, Mohammad Arif Ajakia, has directed the town officials concerned to repair the boundary wall of Muslimabad hydrant and the movement of water tankers at entry points of the locality be stopped so that uplift works were not disturbed.
During his visit to the area after receiving complaints from the residents at an open kutchehri held by Muslimabad Soceity, the town nazim asked the officials to immediately plug leakages in water supply line at street number 3 and 6.
Mr Ajakia also instructed them to redress complaints of the area residents regarding lack of streetlights, sewage overflow, reconstruction of roads and other civic problems and submit a report to him.—PPI
