Panel formed to probe into inmates clash

LAHORE: The Punjab home secretary has constituted an inquiry committee comprising three DIGs to probe the incident of clash among inmates at Kot Lakhpat jail that led to one prisoner’s death, while other prisoners sustained injuries.

Taking serious notice of the incident, the home secretary said those responsible for the tragic incident would be identified and taken to task in accordance with the law. He directed that the injured inmates should be provided with best medical assistance.

The inquiry committee comprising DIG Prisons Lahore Mohsin Rafique, DIG Prisons Headquarters Shaukat Feroz and DIG Prisons Inspection Naveed Rauf has launched investigation from the injured prisoners and jail staff.
