GUJAR KHAN: The assistant commissioner conducted surprise raids to investigate the reported sale of expired beverages and food items, including at milk shops and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sale points, and overcharging for edibles in different areas of Gujar Khan tehsil, and imposed online fines on those found violating government price lists and SOPs.
The officer also sealed a number of agencies of LPG cylinders in the commercial areas and imposed fines on violations like decanting of flammable gas.
Assistant Commissioner Syeda Zeneb Hussain warned the shopkeepers to refrain from overcharging customers and ensure the sale of quality items free from adulteration.
The officer warned that price checking would continue on a daily basis and those found guilty would be dealt with according to law. The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (Pera) force teams have also been activated to monitor overcharging and encroachments according to the SOPs of this enforcement agency. The public circles have appreciated the drive against overcharging and adulteration.
