MANCHESTER, July 26: England have released Jamie Dalrymple from their squad for the second Test against Pakistan starting at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Dalrymple, an all-rounder who bowls off spin, has played six One-day Internationals but is yet to win a Test cap. The pitch is expected to favour pace bowling rather than spin.
