Iranian Navy commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani has described Iran’s maritime power as a key factor in safeguarding national interests, regional security and the safety of shipping routes, IRNA reports.
He stressed that Iran’s naval power is not intended to threaten other nations or create insecurity, but to help maintain stability and maritime security and deter what he described as adventurism in the region.
