ATTOCK, July 26: District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Mohammad Younis has asked the nazim of Union Council-1, Attock city, Malik Tahir Awan to appear before the court in a land grabbing case on Thursday.

The judge issued the directives while hearing a case filed by Mohammad Amir against the nazim of the ruling party under the Illegal Dispossession Act 2005.

The complainant told the court that he was in possession of a shop and a plot measuring 10 marlas on Attock-Kamra road within the municipal limits of Attock city.

He said the nazim forcibly dispossessed him from the property and forcibly took possession of the property on June 18.

The court directed the SHO city police to immediately restore the possession to the complainant as the respondent was likely to change the nature of the property. If the respondent resists he may be arrested, the court ordered.

Following the order, the police restored the land possession to the complainant amid tight security on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, sources said the court was also considering to send a report to the anti-corruption department and other government quarters concerned against the officials of the police and revenue department for allegedly taking side with the accused, as they had falsely shown the accused as the owner of the property by manipulating the revenue record besides trying to cheat the court.
